1. Hollywood Star Cars Museum
You can take a short walk down the Parkway to look at some famous automobiles at the Hollywood Star Cars Museum. You don’t have to be a car-lover to appreciate the cars on display here. All it takes is to be a fan of some of the biggest TV shows and movies of all time — with cars such as the Ecto-1 from “Ghostbusters,” and the flashy Batmobile. Take a tour to see one of the most Hollywood of all the Gatlinburg museums!
2. Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum
The Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum is not on the main Parkway, but it’s just a short drive up the hill at light #3. Salt and pepper shakers are quite a collectible for some people, but you don’t have to have one to be fascinated by the display here. The owners didn’t set out to have a museum of salt and pepper shakers, but their excitement and love of the variety of shapes and designs they came in, led them to share their collection with thousands of visitors every year. It is one of the more creative Gatlinburg museums you’ll come across on vacation.
3. The Titanic Museum
If you love history, then you have to check out The Titanic Museum while you’re in town. Located in Pigeon Forge, you can’t miss the large replica of this historic ship. When you purchase tickets, you’ll receive a boarding pass with the name of an actual Titanic passenger on it. As you make your way through the self-guided tour, you will learn all about the plans for the ship, how it was built, the legacy it had through the movie, and so much more. There are interactive portions of the museum, including being able to sit in a replica of a life boat and trying to walk on the deck at the different angles before the ship sank. At the end of the museum, you will find out the fate of the passenger on your boarding pass.
4. Cooter’s Place
If you’re old enough to remember the popularity of “The Dukes of Hazzard” television show, then you’ll be tickled to know there’s a Cooter’s Place in Pigeon Forge.
